DESCRIPTION:When Mountains Meet / Jub Milain Pahaar : A musical adventure from Scotland to Pakistan \nRick will be performing in this atmospheric fusion event as part of the annual Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow. Premiered in Edinburgh last autumn as a work in progress\, this production recounts the adventures of Anne Wood as she sets forth on an unforgettable voyage from the Scottish Highlands to the Himalayas. Inspired by Anne’s true story\, this tender\, surprising and heart-opening show summons majestic mountains\, mesmerising sounds and mouth-watering tastes. \nThis blend of Scottish/South Asian influenced music\, storytelling\, and striking visual images is composed and musically directed by Scottish violinist Anne Wood (The Raincoats\, Kathryn Tickell\, Savourna Stevenson\, Feis Rois\, Deacon Blue\, Michael Marra) and co-directed by Kath Burlinson (Mairi Campbell: Pulse and Auld Lang Syne) and Niloo-Far Khan (Play\, Pie\, Pint; Grid Iron/EIF; NTS).
